Confidential papers leaked from PPP cell: Ch Shujaat
ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the second attempt by the government of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to hijack the ISI is against the interest of the country. In a statement issued from the party office, Cahudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the PPP government had made an attempt in 1994 to overtake the ISI by appointing a retired army general the director-general of the ISI and now tried to get this sensitive institution under the interior ministry. Shujaat Hussain said that during the previous regime of the PPP, a cell was created for coordination between the ISI and the interior ministry but some confidential papers were leaked from the cell after which the government had to close that cell.
