PM assures India of Pak resolve to strengthen ties
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday assured his Indian counterpart of his government’s resolve to strengthen bilateral relations. After having received a message of congratulations on the eve of Pakistan’s Independence Day from the prime minister of India, the PM called Manmohan Singh to congratulate him and the people of India on the occasion of their Independence Day. Singh expressed his gratitude saying that personal-level contact between the leadership would help overcome misgivings the two sides had about each other. staff report
