Charge sheet now meaningless: Naik

ISLAMABAD: A charge sheet against General (r) Pervez Musharraf had been prepared to impeach him, but since he had resigned, the charge sheet was a “meaningless document” now, Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naik said on Tuesday. Talking to reporters outside the parliament building, Naik termed the charge sheet against Musharraf meaningless as he had already resigned. However, he said the summit meeting of the coalition partners would discuss all the important issues including the accountability of the former general, election of the next president, restoration of sacked judges, the 17th Amendment and Article 58(2b). Naik rejected the impression that Musharraf had resigned after reaching a deal with the government. The former president had resigned on his own, he added. tahir niaz
