Coalition not interested in restoration of judges: Q

ISLAMABAD: The ruling coalition is not interested in the judges’ restoration and the new government should focus on resolving the ‘real issues’ confronting the country, PML-Q Parliamentary Leader Faisal Saleh Hayat said on Friday. “The Murree Declaration is already dead and the government should pay attention to the real issues, including law and order and the price hike,” said Hayat. Also on Friday, sources said that President Pervez Musharraf consulted several PML-Q leaders on the options available for dealing with the possible reinstatement of the sacked judges through a parliamentary resolution. Hayat confirmed the meeting with but denied that the issue of the restoration of the judiciary had been discussed. Presidential spokesman Rashid Qureshi denied any knowledge of the meeting. sajjad malik
